Save the Date-Fluvanna 4-H Camp July 10-14, 2017-Holiday Lake 4-H Educational Center

Camp registration forms are now available by clicking here. Registrations will be accepted beginning on January 3, 2017. 4-H Camp is an overnight camp available for youth ages 9-13 by September 30, 2017.

Teen Leader Applications can be found here.  This is an online google form. Please make sure that you have reference contact information available when you complete the form. If you would like a hard copy of this form, please email Kim Mayo at kmayo@vt.edu

Scholarship applications are available here and are due by February 1, 2017.

Fluvanna County Contest Day- January 21, 2017  Fluvanna Community Center

Our annual 4-H County Competition Day is coming up soon.  Members can choose from a variety of competitions including Radio Spot, Science Fair, Share the Fun Talent Show, Table Setting, Hippology, Skillathon, Photography and more.  Any registered 4-H member may participate as long as their enrollment is current.

The contest will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at the Fluvanna Community Center in Fork Union. (5725 James Madison Highway)  Registration is due by January 11, 2017.  Members can find more information about the contests offered, and register by visiting the following link:

Many volunteers are needed to make this event successful.  Volunteer positions include judges, room chairs, and tabulators.  If you, or someone you know is interested in volunteering for this short-term program, please contact Kim Mayo kmayo@vt.edu  434-591-1950. 

 


Volunteer Opportunities with Fluvanna 4-H

Volunteers are the backbone of our 4-H program.  Below are the current opportunities for volunteers interested in working with youth in existing Fluvanna 4-H programs.  We are always open to new program ideas as well. 2016 Fluvanna 4H Terrific Tuesdays Fire

Food Challenge Leader– Work with youth to secure and prepare food items while keeping in mind food safety and nutrition.  Members use ingredients to form a dish and then present to the judges.  Short-term project, ends in early spring.

Teen Leader Club Co-leader– Adult needed to assist with monthly club meetings for teens ages 14-19. 

Real Steel Robotics and Engineering Program Leader-After school program for middle school aged youth. Meetings to be held twice monthly.  Teen leaders accepted as well as assistants.

Terrific Tuesdays After School Program Assistants– 2nd Tuesdays, January-April at  FMS  2:45-4:45 PM.  All materials and curriculum provided. Teen leaders accepted as well.
