We provide education through programs in Agriculture and Natural Resources, Family and Consumer Sciences, 4-H Youth Development, and Community Viability.

The dates of James City County’s 2015 Junior 4-H Camp will be June 29-July 3, 2015. Information about camp registration and Counselor-In-Training Applications will be announced in January.

2015 VCE Master Gardener Training Program

Master Gardener

The Virginia Cooperative Extension (VCE) Master Gardener Program will begin accepting applications for the 2015 training class through November 2, 2014. Classes will meet for three hours Monday and Wednesday mornings from January 5 through April 2, 2015. In order to become a Master Gardener, a candidate for the program must complete a 13 week classroom program as well as all assignments and quizzes. This qualifies the participant as a Master Gardener Intern. Master Gardener Interns are required to complete 50 volunteer project hours and 20 hours on the Master Gardener Help Desk to become fully certified as a Master Gardener.
