Cooking for Crowds
Virginia Cooperative Extension is offering a Cooking for Crowds class Tuesday, June 25, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Orange Fire Department (located at 205 Caroline Street Orange, Virginia). The class is designed to teach the basics of food safety for individuals and organizations that raise money by selling food at fairs and street festivals or cook and serve food for schools, churches and/or civic groups. Please call the Orange Extension Office at (540) 672-1361 to register. Registration is required and space is limited. The cost for the class is $15 per person (for groups that send more than 5 people a reduced rate of $10 per person is offered).
Home Food Preservation Workshops
Join us for a canning workshop teaching the basics of home food preservation. Enjoy a hands-on class setting and preserve your own goodies to take home. Bring your apron and be prepared to learn by doing as we master the art of preserving home-grown fresh produce. The cost of the class is $20. Register by calling the Orange Extension Office at (540) 672-1361. All classes are from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
