Childcare Provider Training Dates - 2012
Childcare Provider Trainings will be offered on the following dates. Exact class times and locations are yet to be determined, but will be held at either the Surry or Sussex (Waverly) Cooperative Extension Office. Registration will open 3 weeks prior to the class. Diabetes - A Growing Concern
Diabetes affects nearly one out of every 10 people in the United States. The dangerous thing about diabetes is that many people do not notice any warning signs and remain undiagnosed . . . increasing their risk for heart disease, stroke, blindness and amputation.
What Can You Do?
- Talk to your health care provider about testing your blood sugar level.
- Be active at least 30 minutes a day, most days of the week.
- Keep you weight at a healthy level.
- Keep your blood pressure and cholesterol under control.
Diabetes depends on a diagnosis and active self-management. Take the first step and talk to your health care provider.
